It gives me great joy to serve the Lord at Hope+in+the+Desert Episcopal
Church as a deacon. I love the people who form the Body of Christ at our
church. They are a wonderful community who bring the love of Jesus Christ to
those who come into contact with our mission church.
I have been with Hope+in+the+Desert Episcopal Church since the core group
to start our mission was launched over seven years ago. I quickly became
involved in all aspects of worship and the many activities designed to establish
our church in our new neighborhood, such as planning events and
coordinating Alpha Programs. When I retired from my position as counselor at
St. Pius X High after twenty years, I gained much more time and opportunity to
serve the Lord in establishing Hope.
God placed a call on my life to ordained ministry even before I knew about
Hope Church, but I put His message aside. His call continued to surface
during my early involvement at Hope and I finally responded. I received my
seminary education at the School for Ministry of the Diocese of the Rio
Grande and was ordained a vocational deacon on July 30, 2005. As part of
my responsibilities as deacon at Hope Episcopal Church, I coordinate many of
the ministries, especially those related to Sunday worship. I am involved with
the Healing Prayer Team, the Intercessors and the Order of St. Luke.
I am a cradle Episcopalian who is married to a Roman Catholic. This has
worked out very well for both of us during our marriage of 37 years as we
respect our similarities and our differences in beliefs and worship. We have
raised two wonderful children who both live in Albuquerque with their family.
A Healing Community in the Anglican Tradition.
