Fr. Dan Tuton, Rector
Hope-in-the-Desert is an intergenerational, Christ-centered community that
welcomes everyone, no matter where you are in your spiritual search. I trust
that you will feel God's joyful presence in our church and in its people.
ALL IS WELL
When I’m feeling overwhelmed,
Your love will see me through.
When I’m drowning in my life
with all that I must do,
my head rises ‘above the waves
to draw unsteady breath,
and then I sink down deep again
into the water’s depth.
But I can see You on the shore
beckoning to me.
“Trust in Me,” I hear You say
above the raging sea.
And so I slowly swim to shore
against the treacherous tide,
and finally feel the grainy sand
against my panting side.
“I’ll never let you drown,” You say
to my poor, pounding ears.
“You’re safe with Me. I’ll give you
through your remaining years.”
And so I start the day anew
with feelings that are light.
He was with me in the darkest waves
and brought me through the night.
I will remember what He said,
the promise He did tell.
For all my days I’ll surely know
that, with Him, all is well.
